Introducing Our Speakers… JH Kim
Jong-hyup Kim majored in computer science and engineering at Pohang University of Science And Technology. He was as an assistant manager at Jang Media Interactive and then co-founded BTWorks right after graduating. He started developing patented applications, such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), authentication and security protocol and producers applied to an embedded environment in finance, public, and the private sector.
He turned to blockchain in 2017, becoming CEO of Seoul-based theloop. theloop is a member of the Korean Financial Investment Association, which includes 27 financial firms in Korea. In 2018, JH Kim is mostly recognized as council member within the ICON foundation.
ICON is what will connect all of the projects of theloop:
theloop helps in on-boarding companies on (private) blockchains, while ICON focuses on connecting those private blockchains, while also creating public open blockchains (with ICOs). Eventually, there will be a connection between the public and private ones as well.
ICON is an interconnecting blockchain network. It can connect independent blockchains without the use of additional third-party intermediaries. Various blockchains can communicate with each other through the ICON platform.
ICX is used as an intermediary currency when transacting amongst the various blockchain networks. As an inter-chain blockchain, the ICON platform will be able to host other ICOs on the ICON platform.
The ICON project is the first blockchain network in Korea that is pushing the country towards widespread blockchain adoption. What really stands out with ICON is their amount of quality partnerships. From their interoperability alliance with ICON, WAN and AION to investment firms like Pantera and from fellow Beyond Blocks speaker Hashed to Samsung, Hyundai and LINE.
JH Kim will be giving an in-depth keynote session where he will discuss ICON’s partnership strategies and leadership vision, as well as their roadmap and how ICON got where they are today.
